A.     Vision:

  • To ensure the long-term sustainability of the village, its buildings and its environment for benefit of future generations

B.     To Achieve this by:

  • Creating a village that meets the needs of all age groups and helps retain people in the village
  • Aiming for a carbon neutral environment
  • Protecting the natural environment and biodiversity of the village
  • Promoting localism for the economic benefit of the village

C. Detailed Actions:

 1.     Creating a village that meets the needs of all age groups and helps retain people in the village
  • Provision of housing to meet village requirements
  • Provision of work and retail opportunities to add life to the village
  • Provision of social facilities to provide an active social life for all ages of residents
2.     Aiming for a carbon neutral environment
  • To promote the highest levels of energy conservation in new buildings
  • To promote the use of all forms of sustainable energy sources – solar & wind
3.     Protecting the natural environment and biodiversity of the village
  • Carry out a biodiversity study of the village and its environs and make all residents aware of their natural heritage.
  • Provide protected environments for local wildlife
4.     Promoting localism for the economic benefit of the village
  •  Use locally sourced firms, labour and materials for Parish council works
  • Promote use of local firms, labour and materials for private works
