Working Groups

Following the successful launch at the Village Hall Curry night in September, Drayton 2020 is now properly up and running with a Steering Group and Working Groups.

Initially Four (now five) Working Groups were formed and they are meeting regularly to gather views and information about their topics and about what, if any, housing is needed in the village.

The five groups are:

Look and Feel (including Village Centre)

  • Convener: Janet Manning
  • Vision: To create a cohesive and coherent look and feel to the overall plan for the village that helps integrate the residents and gives Drayton a real identity.

Sustainability

  • Convener: Diane Dunsdon
  • Vision: To ensure the long-term sustainability of the village, its buildings and its environment for benefit of future generations.

Transport

  • Convener: Pervin Shahin
  • Vision: To make it easier for all residents of the village to travel in and around, and stop in the village more safely & easily; and to improve transport links to surrounding towns and villages.

Work & Play

  • Convener: Richard Williams
  • Vision: To promote and enhance work and leisure facilities in Drayton to meet the needs of all ages of resident, thus making the village a place where more residents can fulfill their requirements for living, work and play.

Housing

  • Convener: Janet Manning
  • Vision: To ensure that any housing development meets the needs of Drayton’s inhabitants, fits into the character of the village and ensures the viability and sustainability of the village
